Tomorrow is Heritage Day, also known as National Braai Day. And while we’ll all be snacking on braai dishes, there are children in our country who’ll be going to bed with an empty stomach tonight (and possibly even tomorrow and the day thereafter).
FEED SA, a non-profit organisation (NGO) that aims to establish feeding programmes in townships, has partnered with The Bead Coalition to raise funds for FEED SA’s feeding and education programmes.
“At FEED SA we believe that a chance at a better life begins with a full tummy, which is why we’re committed to feeding the hearts, minds and tummies of South African children who are forced to go to school on an empty stomach,” says Candice Etberg of FEED SA.
The Bead Coalition designed the SA Heritage Bracelet to create awareness and raise the funds needed to feed underprivileged children in South African townships. As these hand-beaded bracelets are made locally, it has also created employment opportunities for previously disadvantaged South Africans. All the profits from the sale and payment of every Heritage Bracelet will go directly to the FEED SA-supported projects and causes.
The bracelets are available for R40 per bracelet and R30 for retailers (wholesale price). Call The Bead Coalition on 083 609 1111 to order your bracelet or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
