Fantasy forest party

If the idea of many little feet running through your home is too much to contemplate, take to your local park and create an Enchanted Forest theme for your child’s party. Handmade felt owls and hedgehogs can join your little one’s guests as they sit on toadstool cushions, nibbling on beautifully iced woodland biscuits and delicious cupcakes.

A forest or wooded area is the best setting for this party. If you don’t know of such a place, you can set up under a tree in your garden, or use a green background if you’re setting up indoors.

Felt is versatile and easy to work with, which makes these toadstool cushions  quick and simple to put together. Moss has been used in the décor to great effect. You can turn just about any space into a forest fantasy using handfuls of moss bought from a nursery. Make your own Toadstool pillows with these step-by-step instructions.

You can include lots of fresh berries and fruit in your menu, which will not only look fabulous but offer a healthy food alternative

Turn your tables into a forest fantasy with these easy to make Harry the hedgehog and owl felt decorations.

Make these sweet cupcakes in minutes. Buy plain cupcakes, ice them and use Oreo biscuits to form the wings, and chocolate discs for eyes. Cut Liquorice Allsorts intro triangles to form the beak.

This special cake was made by joining cupcakes into the shape of an owl. Oreo biscuits become wings, and bread sticks form the perch.

You can also add these fun owl and animal biscuits to the menu.
